CHOOSE AND HANDLE YOUR LADDERS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE BGI 694 DIRECTIVE

All our ladders comply with the accident prevention regulations BGI 694 and DIN EN 131, and are GS approved. Make sure you choose and use your ladders in accordance with the requirements of this same standard BGI 694, the benchmark for handling ladders and steps. 

AN IMPERATIVE: THE REGULAR INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF LADDERS AND RUNNING BOARDS
 

All employers must ensure that their ladders and running boards are inspected regularly (visual and practical inspection) to ensure a continually serviceable condition. To this end, it is necessary to specify the type of inspection required, as well as its duration and the interval between two inspections:

• the interval between two inspections depends on the conditions of use of the scale, in particular its frequency of use, the stress exerted on it, as well as the frequency and severity of faults found during previous inspections

• systematic examination of ladders and steps can be carried out using a checklist

• the employer must also ensure that damaged ladders and steps are removed and stored so that they cannot be used until they have been properly repaired or discarded
